A Color Story
For this color consultation the client wanted to personalize the builder white walls in their newly constructed home in a 55+ community. They knew they couldn't live with White Dove walls and trim in every room, everyday. We concentrated on the first floor living which includes a master suite. They had bought a new couch and two arm chairs when they moved in but kept a lot of the old. They were struggling to make everything work together and suffering from years of playing it safe with tan and brown.
She loves red. He loves blue. This is what we came up with.
Pomegranate Red above the chair rail in the dining room, white dove below with pops of red throughout the main living spaces in accessories and wall art. His office is Alfresco blue. Dark and cozy just how he wants it. Oh, she also loves orange, too. A perfect spot for Fall Harvest is in the small powder room. The great room kitchen/living area hosts two shades of gray, the new neutral. The master bedroom is an updated tan called Hush with a a bit darker greige shade in the master bath. Matching area rugs in the living room and foyer bring the color palette together.
